SPORTS SECTION

ACTIVITIES

           a)  Running of the Sports Department

              b)   Running of the Office of the M.U. Sports Committee - Asst. Director of Sports       

                     functions as the Secretary of the MUSC.

               c)   Sponsoring/Holding of the M.U. Inter College Sports Tournaments

              d)  Sending of M.U. Sports teams for AIU sponsored Zonal/Inter Zonal/All India Inter University Sports Tournaments.

                       -     Selection/ preparation of teams

                       -     Selection of Team Officials

               e)     Collection of       

                       -     Annual Affiliation Fees from affiliated units of MUSC

                       -     University Sports Fees from affiliated units of MUSC

               f)     Granting of Affiliation to M.U. Sports Committee.

               g)     Extension of services to

-           the University during M.U. Inter College Youth Festivals and other activities which have been     assigned by the University from time to time.

-           the state Govt./ Manipur Olympic Assn./state Associations in activities         

       concerning with sports.

               h)     Help organise M.U. Weeks, a mega event of cultural, sports & literary activities of the P.G. Classes students of the University.

               i)      Reaching infra-structural facilities to the students/employees of the university and also to the outsiders/locals.

               j)     Holding of seminars, conferences etc on sports and physical education in the state, national and international levels,

               k)    Participation in the seminars, conferences etc on sports and physical education in the state, national and international levels,

               l)      Regularise opening of faculties/department on Sports & Physical Education in the colleges etc.

               m)    Providing incentives to PG Class students of the University 

i.       who are representing the University in the Inter University Sports Tournaments or

                               ii.       who are representing the country in International Sports championships.

               n)     Smooth running of the Students’ Hostels of the University on advisory capacity.

               o)    Procurement of sports materials, equipments of the University

               p)    Preparation of budget etc. for obtaining sports grants etc. from the state govt., UGC or other agencies.

               q)    Sports Talent Scholarships to the students’ sports persons of the University   through the 

                       SAI

                r)    Sending of P.G. Classes Sports Teams for Inter College Sports Tournaments.

               s)    Issue of M.U. Representation Sports Certificates.

                t)     Collection of fees for the issue of M.U. Representation Sports Certificates.
