Establish in the year 1986. The department has been offering PG Diploma Courses in Adult Education and MA in Adult Education

Many Short term courses on topics like "Preservation of food on the locally available resources", "Mushroom Cultivation", "Book binding and Preservatory technology", "HIV/AIDS and its preventive measures", "Wool knitting and textile technology", etc are also conducted from time to time at the department.

Also the department conducts many training programmes for TLC volunteers, Pre-rak, College Principals & programme officers of where population Education clubs have been opened.
