Dr. Laishram Prabhakar completed his graduate in Computer Science (Hons), 1st Batch from D.M. College of Science, Imphal, Manipur in the year 1991. He studied Master in Computer Applications (MCA) in Jorhat Engineering College, Jorhat, Assam and completed in the year 1994. Joined Computer Science Department, Manipur University, Imphal Manipur in 1994 as Guest Faculty and served for two years. Then, he joined Manipur Institute of Management Studies (MIMS), MU in 1996. He has done his Ph.D. in “Management Information System in Some Selected North East Universities”. He was in Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA) in 2000-2001 for undergoing Faculty Development Programme (FDP). He is awardees of Best Citizen of India, 2005. He has visited Hong Kong to participate in the International MultiConference of Engineers and Computer Scientist (IMECS), March 14-16, 2012 organised by International Association of Engineers (IAENG). He chaired some session in IMECS. He has published in many international journals and presented papers in International Seminars and Conferences. He was the founder of Community College, Manipur University, serving as Coordinator till date. He has visited many Community Colleges at Florida, USA in 2015 as a representative of India sponsored by U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, Florida State University and Santa Fe College. During his visit, he highlighted the future prospect of Community College in India particularly our State Manipur. He also participated in the workshop: Community College in Australia organized by Australian Embassy and University Grant Commission (UGC), New Delhi in 2014. He has been again invited in Community College Administrator Programme Alumni Symposium in Washington D.C., USA organized and sponsored by U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, Florida State University and Santa Fe College May 23-25, 2019, presenting a paper Community College – A Lesson from CCAP, USA. His areas of interest include Information System Management, Knowledge Management, Data Mining, Quantitative Techniques etc. He is a member of various academic and international societies such as Institute of Electronics and Technical Engineers (IETE), North East Management Association (NEMA), International Red Cross Society, International Association of Engineers (IAENG).
