Brief Bio-Sketch
Prof. Memcha Loitongbam is Professor of Manipur Institute of Management Studies (MIMS), a management department of Manipur University, a Central university, Imphal, Manipur, India. Currently she is serving as the Director of Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) OF Manipur University in addition to her duties of Professor in the Management department of the university.
Prof. Memcha joined Manipur University in the year 1995 and during her career, Prof. Memcha has served the institute in different capacities - as the senior most faculty member of the institute, admission coordinator, member of Governing Council, member of the Result Committee and many more. Right from her school days, Prof. Memcha had a good academic record which includes securing 1st Position in Pre-University in Commerce Examination 1983; 1st Position in Bachelor in Commerce Degree from Manipur University, 1985 and various others. She is a recipient of National Scholarship from Matriculation to Master in Commerce and also the Ph.D. fellowship. She received her Ph.D. degree in the year 1993. The title of her thesis is "Growth Centre Strategy for Integrated Development Planning – A Case Study of Imphal District, Manipur". She has also successfully completed Faculty Development Programme in Management, at Indian Institute of Management Ahmadabad (IIMA), 1997-1998.
Prof. Memcha Loitongbam received the Fulbright - Nehru Senior Research Fellowship for the year 2010 - 2011 and had been in Midwest Center for Nonprofit Leadership in the Henry W. Bloch School of Management, University of Missouri Kansas City (UMKC), USA. During her stay in UMKC as Fulbright scholar, Prof. Memcha conducted research in strategic management of nonprofit organizations besides teaching management course. Prof. Memcha’s research focuses on the strategic management and leadership of for profit, nonprofit and public service organizations and women leadership. She also conducts research in finance and entrepreneurship and undertakes many major research projects.
Prof. Memcha has written and co-authored numerous articles, reports and chapters for scholarly and practice-oriented publications and she has coordinated and organized path breaking national and international seminars and conferences and chaired many academic sessions. She has taken part numerous academic programs as resource person, participant and trainer. Prof. Memcha Loitongbam has good academic association with other universities both national and international.
