Manipur University, 08/01/2022: An Integrated Communication and Outreach Programme with 2-day Photo Exhibition on Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav on India’s Freedom Struggle with special focus on Manipuri Freedom Fighters was jointly organized by the Department of Law, Manipur University and the Regional Outreach Bureau, Imphal, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India today(08/01/2022) at Manipur University, Canchipur.
Prof. N. Lokendra Singh, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Manipur University, Shri B. Narayanan, Additional DG(Region), Imphal, Min. of Info. & Bro., GoI, Prof. W. Chandbabu Singh, Registrar, Manipur University and Dr. Y. Premananda Singh, Head of Department(Law), Manipur University have graced the function as Chief Guest, Guests of Honour, and President respectively.
As part of the program, the Private Registered Troupe(PRT) of ROB, Imphal, M/s Achouba Artiste Association played a drama on Nupi Lal, 1939. Prof. N. Lokendra Singh, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Manipur University, explained Narendrajit Singh's (Manipuri Prince Sana Chahi Ahum) involvement in to fight against the British imperialism at Chittagong during 1857 India’s First War of Independence. The Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor also elaborately explained why King Kulachandra and 23 others were exiled at Mt. Harriet/Mt. Manipur.
