Manipur University organised National Workshop on Statistical Data Analysis.

"Five Day National Workshop on Statistical Data Analysis in Social Sciences Research" was organised by Department of Adult Continuing Education and Extension & Department of Education at Department of Computer Science, starting from 11th March 2019 to 15th March 2019. Dr. Rajkumar Suresh Singh acted as Program Convenor and Dr. Ch. Beda Devi (Education, MU) & Ch. Sonia (ACEE,MU) as Program Co-convenor of the workshop. More than 57 participants have registered for the workshop. Among them 26 are Assistant Professor from nine different colleges, 7 Guest Faculty and more than 24 Research Scholars from the North Eastern States.

The Inuagural Function was graced by Shri O. Imocha Singh (Head, Computer Science, MU), Dr. Manoj Kumar (CESP, JNU, New Delhi) and Dr. Ch. Beda Devi (Programm Co-convenor, NWSDASSR) as Chief Guest, Guest of Honor and President respectively. Dr. Manoj Kumar spoke on "Research Methodology: Process, Design, Scaling. Sampling" and "Type of Data, Descriptive Statistics, Data Cleaning". On the Second day (12-03-2019) of the workshop, Jarnail Singh (Administrator, MU) interact with participants on the topic of data analysis & statistical decision making with data mining application. The workshop session was continued by Dr. Manoj Kumar on "Statistical Software and hands on training on SPSS" & "Parametric methods and chi-square test". Dr. S. Shantikumar (Department of Statistics, MU) speech on "Data Analysis in MS-Excel". Tommorow (13-03-2019) programme schedule will be the presentation of "Data Mining" by Dr. L.Prabhakar Singh (Asso. Prof., MIMS, MU), "Important of Statistical Data Analysis" by Jarnail Singh (Administrator, MU) and "Questionnaire" & "Hypothesis, Formulation" by Subrat (Cinque Education, Noida). On Thursday(14-03-2019) have programme schedule for local visits at Andro. And on 15-03-2019, the last day of the workshop, Dr. S. Shantikumar (Dept. of Statistics, MU) will deliver lectures on statistical data analysis on Excel.

Meanwhile, in another news, Dr. I. Gambhir Singh (Head, Dept. of English & Cultural Studies, MU) have announced the Qualifying Entrance Test (QET) for Pre-Ph.D. will be held on 14th March 2019 and the interview was scheduled from 26th March 2019.

Today at 3:00 pm, Jarnail Singh (Administrator, MU), visited the 100 bedded Kushum Lei, Ladies Hostel No. 7. The said hostel have been inuagurated by Former VC Prof. HNK Sarma on September 11, 2015.
