Manipur University, 01/07/2022: A MEGA-BLOOD Donation was held on 1st July 2022 at Centenary Hall Manipur University. Blood Donation started from 9 am onwards.A formal function was also organized at 11 am. Prof. N. Lokendra Singh was the Chief Guest of the function. Dr Maibam Nodiyachand Singh NSS Cell Coordinator, Manipur University and Maj. Deepak Kataria Commanding Officer, 16th Assam Riffle were a Guest of honour and Rtn Pramod Jaspal was the president of the function.
Prof. N . Lokendra Singh –Vice-Chancellor Manipur University said that NSS is a beautiful Student Scheme under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. It has a lot of Services in the Community for the nation. Dr Maibam Nodiyachand Singh NSS Cell Coordinator, Manipur University said that there are 150 volunteers reported for Mega Blood Donation Camp from different 27 Units .under Manipur University. We have 82 Very active NSS Units under Manipur University.NSS is a three Pillar system, the first Pillar is Students Volunteers, the second pillar is the Community and the third pillar is teachers i.e Programme Offers of NSS Units, Students working with the community with teachers to adopt villages. Today 93 units of blood were collected. Due to a shortage of Blood storage, some students did not get the chance to give blood.
During the function, Dr.M. Chourjit Singh give the welcome address and Okram Sonamani Gave a Vote of Thanks.
