Manipur University, 1/12/2022: Prof N. Lokendra Singh, Hon'ble, Vice Chancellor, Manipur University, along with the faulty members and students actively participated the function with the theme "One Earth One Family One Future", Celebrating India's Presidency of G20. Vice-Chancellor of Manipur University Prof. N. Lokendra Singh as well as faculty members and students of the varsity participated virtually the main function of University Connect at Sushma Swaraj Bhawan, New Delhi which was addressed by Union Minister of External Affairs S. Jaishankar and Chairman of the UGC to interact with select Vice-Chancellors and students of different universities at 75 locations across the country on 1/12/2022. The idea behind the interaction session is to take India’s Presidency of G20 to people’s participation level.Speaking to DD News after the interaction session, Prof. Lokendra said, resurgent India is looked upon by the global community with high expectations for sustainable solutions to pressing global problems whether it is global economic slowdown after the COVID pandemic or climatic problems. He also proposed to engage Manipur University as an organizing partner of some events of G20 in the border state of Manipur during India’s Presidency of the intergovernmental body when as many as 200 meetings related to G20 are being held across the country.Students of the varsity who have participated in today’s University Connect session have also expressed their satisfaction on being given such an opportunity to engage young minds in the look out for sustainable solutions to global problems.
