Manipur University, 8/10/2022: The Department of Forestry & Environmental Science, Manipur University, observed the National Wildlife Week during 2nd -8th 2022 on the theme of ‘Restoration of key species’ organizing a Wildlife Photography Contest, Photography Exhibition, National Webinar/Workshop on Snake-bite management and students outreach programme.
Prof. H.T. Lalremsanga, from the Department of Zoology, School of Life Sciences, Mizoram University, delivered a lecture via video conferencing on the topic “Venomous snakes of NE India: Snakebites Management”. He focuses on the importance of the knowledge of the snakebites with instructions to manage it. He shared updated information regarding the different venomous and nonvenomous snakes of NE India.
The celebration was followed by the “Student Interaction Program” with Mr Moirangthem Loiyangamba, a Wildlife and Environmental Activist and founder of the Wildlife & Habitat Protection Society.
The programme concluded with the felicitation of the guests and the distribution of the prizes to the winners of the photography contest.
