Manipur University, February 21, 2025 – eOffice Implementation Committee, Manipur University (MU) and Computer Centre, MU organised one-day eOffice user training programme for non-teaching staff on 21 February, 2025 at MIMS Auditorium Hall, MU with an aim to enhance awareness and hands-on experience with eOffice among non-teaching employees for an efficient digital administration.
Prof. W. Chandbabu Singh, Registrar, Manipur University graced the event as the chief guest. Striking a positive note on the implementation of eOffice, he stated that eOffice is indispensable in today’s workplace ecosystem. He stressed that the eOffice will make a swift digital administration, streamlining work ethics and safeguarding data security. He further highlighted the benefits of implementing eOffice in the University, transforming its work culture, creating transparency and enhancing accountability in its governance.
The technical sessions were conducted by two eminent resource persons from National Informatics Centre (NIC), Manipur- Shri. Kongbrailatpam Gopalkrishna Sharma, Scientist-D, NIC-Manipur and Shri Laishram Sharat Singh, Scientist-C, NIC, Manipur, who shared their expertise and knowledge among the participants.
Addressing the gathering as a resource person, Shri. Kongbrailatpam Gopalkrishna Sharma, Scientist-D, NIC, explained eOffice is a digital workplace solution and a digital space for effective administration of government offices, empowering administrators to access files from the comfort of their homes. Explaining the importance of eOffice in administration, he pointed out that it will reduce piling up of papers and can locate files at ease. He also applauded Manipur University’s initiative in implementation of eOffice and offered unwavering support of NIC for its successful implementation.
In his technical session, Shri. Kongbrailatpam Gopalkrishna Sharma, Scientist-D, NIC, gave an eOffice user hands-on training session on file management system including process to initiate e-file.
In his technical session, Shri Laishram Sharat Singh, Scientist-C, NIC demonstrated an in-depth training and step-by-step process of e-filing. He further explained in length the technical aspects of eOffice.
Dr. Khumukcham Robindro Singh, Head, Department of Computer Science & Chairman, eOffice Implementation Committee gave the welcome address, stressing the need of eOffice for efficient digital administration.
Shri W. Devendra Singh, System Manager & Convenor, eOffice Implementation Committee, proposed the vote of thanks. Irengbam Tilokchan Singh, Programme Coordinator also expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all the beneficiaries of the training programme.
eOffice, a multilingual digital workplace, was implemented for the first time in Manipur Secretariat on 8th September, 2020, bagged NIC an award from Government of India for installing eOffice within 2 months.
