One Day Symposium THE LIFE AND WORKS OF R.K. PRIYOGOPALSANA
Manipur University, 29/08/2019: Sahitya akademi and Department of Dance and Music, Manipur University have jointly organised the One Day Symposium "THE LIFE AND WORKS OF R.K. PRIYOGOPALSANA" on Thursday 29/08/2019 at 10;00AM at Manipur University Court Hall, Canchipur. The Welcome address of the inauguration function was deliver by Devendra Kumar Devesh (Regional Secretary, Sahitya Akademi, Kolkatta), Introductory remarks by Nongmaithem Kirankumar (Convener, Manipuri Advisory Board, Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi), Jarnail Singh (Administrator, MU) as Chief Guest, President speach by Prof.Soibam Imoba Singh, Dean i/c, School of humanities, MU and Vote of Thanks was given by N.Harimati Devi. Sahitya Akademi Book Exhibition-cum-Sales have started from 1pm to 4.30 pm.
The First Academic Session was chair by H.Tombi singh. Phanjoubam Iboton Singh have read the paper "Life and works of Guru R.K. Priyogopalsana". A. Lakshmi Devi have read the paper "Guru R.K. Priyogopalsanaq as a Pioneer in the field of Manipuri Dance" and S. Noyonsakhi Devi have read the paper "Guru R.K. Priyogopalsana as the first male Manipuri Dancer and Pioneer in the field of Choreography in Manipuri Dance".
Second Academic Session was chaired by E.Indira Devi. In the second session, M. Macha Chaoreikanba have read the paper 'The status of Guru R.K. Priyogopalsana in the field of Manipuri Dance", Y. Gopi Devi have read the paper 'The Contribution of Guru R.K. Priyogopalsana in the stage performance of Manipuri Dance' and P. Lilabati Devi have read the paper "Guru R.K. Priyogopalsana aas a Pioneer inthe field of Choreography in JNMDA, Imphal". [see photo gallery]
In another News, Manipur University also observed the National Sports Day on 29/08/2019. The observation function was organised by the Department of Physical Education & Sports Science and observed at the Conference hall of PESS. The presidium members of the observatory function were Jarnail Singh (Hon'ble Vice Chancelor (i/c), MU), Dr. Takhellambam Inaobi Singh, Dr M Nodiyachand Singh and Dr. Laishram Thambal Singh (HoD(i/c), Dept. of PESS,MU). The students of the PESS have also present in the observation function.
