Saikhom Rashitombi Wins Bronze at North East Zone Inter-University Judo Tournament 2024-25

MANIPUR UNIVERSITY, January 18, 2025: Saikhom Rashitombi, representing Manipur University, secured a bronze medal in the 52kg category at the North East Zone Inter-University Judo (W) Tournament 2024-25, held at Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU), Amritsar, Punjab, from January 15-17, 2025.

With this achievement, Rashitombi has earned a spot in the All India Inter-University Judo Tournament, set to take place at the same venue from January 15, 2025.

In addition to Rashitombi, four other judokas from Manipur University have also qualified for the All India event: Kh. Jeniber (66kg category), N. Sanatomba (81kg category), Haobijam Sobhasini (57kg category), Mutum Roshibina (48kg category)

The commendable performance of the university’s judokas at the North East Zone tournament highlights the growing excellence of Judo in Manipur. With strong determination and rigorous training, the team aims to bring more laurels to Manipur University and the state in the upcoming national-level competition.
