Manipur University health centre provides health care to the Students, Staffs, Research scholars, Faculty members and their families residing in the Campus. It has also an outpatients section which caters to the Patients comming from the surrounding areas of the University campus. The Centre is headed by a Medical officer(pt) and one Dental surgeon ( pt) at the moment. Other Staffs include four female staff nurses, one male Staff nurse, one Pharmacist cum store keeper, one physiotherapist, two ambulance drivers, and one medical attendant.
In addition to providing best possible health care, the Centre is also looking into the medical attention and care during the University week, Youth festivals, Sport meets, NSS camps, International Yoga day etc. The health centre also arranges pulse polio immunization, voluntary blood donation camps, COVID -19 vaccination, free health check up camps from time to time. Every second Thursday of every month, the Centre in collaboration with Shija hospitals is opening an ENT OPD. Besides, in collaboration with empanelled hospitals of the University, the health Centre is planning to open OPDs for gynaecology, general medicine, skin etc . A sample collection centre is likely to be opened soon in collaboration with Babina diagnostics.
