Prof. Naorem Homendra have completed his M.Sc. in Physical Chemistry from NEHU-Shillong in the year 1984 and Ph.D. from IIT-Delhi in the year 1990. Before joining to Manipur University as Assistant Professor in Chemistry Department in Nov 1991, he have worked as Senior Research Officer at IRD, IIT Delhi (1989-90) and also employed as Research Associate at IIT, Delhi (1990-91). On Nov 2001, he was promoted as Associate Professor. And on Mar 2007, he was directly appointed as Professor at the Department of Chemistry, Manipur University. His specialization was Physical Chemistry. During his life, he have done 6(Six) Research Project and have published more than 30 research paper.

Surfactants – micellization in mixed systems, effect of water hardness ions, Polymer gels and entrapment of active molecules in biopolymer gel network materials and their controlled release, Development of microemulsions using essential oils extracted from fruit peels for targeted applications, Self aggregation of dyes in mixed aqueous organic solvent media, development and assembly of dye sensitized solar cells, etc.
